Mission Defined

Our mission at the Kingdom and Culture Podcast is to equip the King’s wardens to know his charge and labor unto to glory. But what does that mean?

The King’s Wardens

A warden is defined as “a person responsible for the supervision of a particular place or thing or for ensuring that regulations associated with it are obeyed.” In short, a warden is a keeper or guardian. In the garden of Genesis 1 & 2 the King of the world made man in his image and gave us the duty of working and keeping the garden, ultimately covering all the wilderness with life; and it remains our charge to this day. We are the wardens of the earth.

Know His Charge

When it comes to the Kingdom of God and the culture of the world there are many competing opinions about how they are to interact with one another. Wardens must know what they are meant to do, how they are to discern a course of action and what their aim is. We intend to explore our charge as wardens of the earth in service of the King so as to be confident in our calling.

Labor Unto Glory

Glory is the telos of the warden. Glory to his King, glory in his accomplishments, and glory in his labor. With this in mind, it’s not enough to just be a warden and to know what you must do. We must act like it. It is necessary that we put our hand to the plow or sword, shovel or shield, to take up our duty as the King’s wardens and labor unto glory. Labora ad gloriam.

This is our goal here at Kingdom and Culture, which we aim to accomplish as we curate conversations with various Christian thinkers from around the world.
